I am a lucky author: I’ve had ridiculously great covers my whole career, which means when I say Fringe Elements Design has done some of my very favourites ever it’s a high bar to clear. I’ve put Tara through the wringer—short deadlines, things like ‘this bit is wrong no really it is holy carp you took a picture of yourself in the pose to show me it’s not—and now I can see what my eye is objecting to’ (followed by her fixing the problem), me nope-ing all the way to the finish line on font choices—and she’s always come through with something beautiful and exactly right for the book I’m writing. I love working with her and frankly feel terribly guilty if I stray from her side.

I was a freelance client of Tara’s. Tara is smart, and Tara CARES. When she takes on a project, she brings 150% enthusiasm and work to it.  She checks in to make sure the client is always happy, and never makes you feel stupid. Her design sense is fantastic; I especially loved the work she did for the Welcome to Bordertown website. She Photoshopped the magic into a magical world and made it come to life! Her personal educational background is broad: Chances are, whatever you’re working on, she knows something about it.

I would recommend Tara to any indie author looking for a cover designer. She goes above and beyond during the design process, experimenting with different concepts and images. Having options to pick from is great and makes the process so much easier. I am extremely happy with the six covers she designed for my Djinn Empire series. I get compliments on them all the time from other authors as well as readers.
